Khalid’s Ex Hugo D Almonte Apologizes: Here’s What He Said
In a lengthy statement, Hugo D Almonte took full responsibility for his actions after some deep reflection. Also, he shared his side of the story and explained what allegedly happened between him and Khalid.
“I have reflected deeply on everything that has happened, and it is time to speak up. I have seen the comments, the backlash and the disappointment. I understand why people are upset and I take full responsibility for my actions. I made a mistake – a serious one like that. I outed someone, and it was wrong. Regardless of the circumstances, it wasn’t my place to reveal something so personal, and for that I’m truly sorry.”
In addition, Hugo D Almonte alleged that he endured years of emotional abuse and experienced several instances of manipulation. He also admitted that he was not in the right state of mind when he unleashed the series of posts about Khalid.
“But I need you to hear the whole story, because what led up to that moment were years of emotional abuse, manipulation and relentless lies that took a toll on my mental health in ways I never imagined.” Khalid wrote in the statement.
He continued to take responsibility for walking out Khalid, stating that he was not in the right space when he did so.
“The day I made those tweets — the day I released them — I was not in a rational frame of mind. I had reached my breaking point. The stress, the accusations, the lies — it all built up until I went into a psychosis. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I reacted from a place of deep pain and frustration. I’m not here to justify my actions. But I’m also here to ask for understanding. I was lied to emotionally abused for years. I reached a point where my mental health collapsed, and I made a mistake that I deeply regret,” Khalid’s statement continued.

Khalid responds to ex Hugo’s previous claims and opens up about his sexuality
On November 22, Khalid took to X after Hugo started talking about him on the platform.“I dated this dumb ass singer he’s ugly as hell but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him like why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you stupid **!” Hugo wrote in a now-deleted post on X. Hugo also released a selfie with Khalid, confirming he was the singer he was referring to. Furthermore, Hugo wrote, “B***ha** lied and said I broke into his house because I didn’t want him.”
Khalid responded to Hugo’s statement by telling his fans that he’s never been ashamed of his sexuality, but it’s not a big deal. “I got out and the world keeps turning. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I’m not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it’s no big deal! But I’m okay with me love you guys.”

It’s not about who you love, it’s about your artistry!” Khalid responded with, “I didn’t hide anything! It’s just none of your business.”
