An American couple living in the UK has their first taste of Cadbury‘s Bournville – and Brits were quickly pointing out their big mistake.
Brianna Sky Morton and her husband Thomas tested British snacks and shared their reactions on social media since moving to the United Kingdom in 2022.
The couple has more than 54,000 followers on TappingWith viewers who recommend what sweet treats they should try next.
In a cut posted on May 8, Brianna and Thomas Cadbury’s Bournville – a dark chocolate bar that has held a place in the heart of the country since 1908.
Named after the Bournville factory in which it was first made, the bar has a cocoa content of 32 percent, making it darker than milk chocolate, but lighter than most dark chocolate on the supermarket racks.
“You asked and we finally managed it,” Brianna said excitedly as she stopped the recognizable red and gold packaging.
But after breaking down a piece for herself and beating in her mouth, Brianna’s face immediately screwed up.
Meanwhile, Thomas is more impressed by the classic British delicacy and says, ‘I can do it. Dark chocolate is also supposed to be healthy. I really like it. ‘

“It grows on me,” Brianna underestimates. “It’s so different. It’s not bad, it really surprised me. ‘
To which her husband replies: ‘I wish it was creamier. However, I think this is a very good dark chocolate. ‘
“However, it’s better than American dark chocolate,” Brianna adds.
The video, seen by more than 17,000 people across Tiktok and Instagram, caused many debates in the commentary – with many British showing what they considered the big mistake of the couple.
“I’ve never known anyone to eat only Bournville,” one walled user said.
“If you buy Bournville, you bake a cake,” they insisted.
A second viewer agreed: ‘I only use it when I make desserts like a dark chocolate sauce. It is perfect for such things. ‘
But other British came to the rescue of the couple, with one making clear in the remarks: “I just buy it to eat!”

As well as the original Dark Chocolate version, Bournville comes in different flavors, including Orange, Mint -Bros as well as Rum and Raisin.
“No, no, no …” one user protested. “If you are going to try Bournville, it should be old Jamaican rum.
“Now it’s a chocolate bar.”
Another advised the American couple to approach a more diplomatic approach: ‘My mother likes the rum and raisin Bournville.
“They have more than just the usual dark chocolate.”
This is not the first time Brianna has been upsetting a debate in her comments department.
In April, the US blogger posted a video on her account List the words she had to google When she first moved to the UK.
The first word that the content creator listed as unusual was “busing”, referring to artists and singers in the British streets, which left many users on the social media platform confused.

Hundreds have made the remarks to ask if the US has an equivalent name for a buser, but most speculate that Americans simply call them ‘street artists’.
The next word on Ms Morton’s list was ‘Chinwag’, a piece of British snake that was presumably derived from the physical movement of a face in the 1800s as he spoke.
She said, ‘I had to look it up. I’ve never heard it before, but it just means talking to someone. ‘
Some similar American equivalents to the term are to have a convo, a ‘chitchat’ or to ‘shoot the breeze’.
Another comment from the tiktoker that made some users scratch their heads was her reference to the general use of the phrase ‘innit’ in England.
She said, ‘Instead of saying, it is not, (people will say) Innit. It’s funny because they took a short word and made it a little longer. ‘
Those in the answers said that Ms Morton again misunderstood the use of the snake and that ‘innit’ was in fact a shorter version of the phrase.
