The US president says Putin has advised Tehran to participate in talks with the intention of reaching a new nuclear deal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Donald Trump in a phone conversation that Moscow has to respond to the latest Ukrainian drone attack, the US president said.
The two men have discussed the attack on aircraft by Russian dock by Ukraine and have discussed several other attacks from both sides, ”Trump said on Wednesday.
Putin said, “He needs to respond to the latest attack on airbags,” Trump said in a social media post.
Al Jajira’s Kimberly Halklack said Trump described his 85 -minute phone call with Putin as “good conversation but not an immediate peace.”
“When Donald Trump came to power, you should remember that he was very confident that he could end this war on the first day, but here we were in June and the truth is… it is not resolved,” he said from the White House.
Moscow said on Wednesday that the military options were “on the table” for responding to the Ukrainian attacks within Russia and the West was accused of being involved in them.
Russia urged the US and Britain to stop Keiv after the attack, which Ukrainian officials praised for more than three years after war.
British and US officials have said that there is no pre-knowledge of the weekend attack on Russian nuclear-capacity long-range bombers.
In his social media post, Trump said he and Putin also discussed Iran. Trump said Putin suggested that he would participate in talks with Tehran to reach a new nuclear deal.
“I told President Putin that I could not have a nuclear weapon, and I believe we are in agreement on this,” Trump said. Iran accused the “slow walking” decisions for negotiations.
Kremlin said on Tuesday that Moscow is ready to negotiate the nuclear deal.
However, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatolla Ali Khameni on Wednesday said Washington’s proposal was against Tehran’s national interests, amidst the differences as to whether Tehran could continue to enrich the uranium.
