Popular EU holiday destination to let Brits skip border ropes by becoming first to allow British tourists to use Passport e gates


Faro Airport in Portugal begins this week with the launch of e-gate access to British arrivals, the Minister of EU relations revealed today.

Nick Thomas -Symonds – a minister in the cabinet office – told the Commons: ‘The historic agreement we signed on May 19 has a question about steps’ to improve the relations with the EU’.

‘It cuts red tape and bureaucracy, increases the British exporters and makes life easier for holidaymakers.

“I am indeed delighted to confirm this morning that Faro Airport in Portugal will start the launch of e-gate access to British arrivals this week.”
