I am a hairdresser – this is the very common mistake people make and what to do instead for perfect holiday hair

Holiday hair can be a great frustration if it sits all over the world.

Some people like to embrace their natural beach waves, but many holidaymakers are met with the fear that they will eventually look like Monica from friends while making themselves sin abroad.

There is also the problem of ensuring that your locks are in a presentable condition when you have to wake up for an early flight, and go straight from the plane to a business meeting or perhaps a wedding.

But if you are concerned about how to look after your hair on your next holiday, do not fear – as a hairstylist for celebrities Michael Douglas is on hand.

After he has been presenting like Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss And his partner Davina McCallThe Mdlondon creator exclusively unveiled his best tips to MailOnline to always have the perfect hair on vacation.

He also tells of the biggest mistakes that tourists regularly make with their dresses including a big towel no-no …

Blow drying your hair the night before

If you have an early morning flight and even want to look at your best at the airport, the best thing to do is do and blow your hair and blow the night before.

If you are concerned about how to look after your hair on your next holiday, do not be afraid - such as Michael Douglas (fame Hair Stylist (above with MailOnline's deputy travel editor, Hayley Minn) is on hand with his tips

There is no budget for hair and make -up on long lost family, so if Davina goes away to film it, I will always do her hair the night before, and it still looks good the next day.

And a blow -drying doesn’t have to take too long.

If you want body and volume in your hair, all the fluffy, curly pieces can be left under it, because that’s what the hair body gives.

You don’t have to use too much product either – because it can flatter it as well.

All you need is a brush brush, nozzle on your hair dryer and primer, which you should spray when your hair is about 80 percent dry – I use the prologue through arkive.

Then the right trick is not to try too much of a rough night’s rest. A silk pillowcase or headshot is great to prevent all the hair from moving around.

The better you can do something with your hair the night before, the better it will look the next day.

Dry shampoo trick

“A lot of people wait until their hair is greasy and sweaty to use dry shampoo – but it’s a good idea to spray it in the roots after you styled it,” Michael says

Many people wait until their hair is greasy and sweaty to use dry shampoo – but it is a good idea to spray it in the roots after styling it.

If you sweat at night, you will secrete the fat, as you would normally do, but it will be eaten immediately.

It therefore serves as a preventative for fatty hair, and also makes the hair feel very nice and lifted.

Experiment with your farewell

If you find that your hair looks flat when your flight lands, or on day two of your vacation and your hair looks lifeless, your farewell should change to get more body in your hair.

Many people separate their hair to the side and then end with lots of hair on one side, and barely on the other.

So a good tip is to move it to an oblique side, and you get more hair on both sides of your head, giving the appearance of more volume.

Don’t be afraid of heat

“If you find that your hair looks flat when your flight lands, or on day two of your vacation and your hair looks lifeless, then change your farewell to get more body in your hair,” says Michael

Many people get scared to use heat on their hair on vacation, fearing that they put too much pressure on it, above sun damage.

But I would recommend that you take a curling stick or a straightforward to style the front or sides of your hair, which limits the amount of heat exposure.

A good tool to give your day two hair a little ombh is the Mdlondon Wave, which I actually made for Davina, to take with her to film Long Lost Family.

It’s like a large heated roller with pull -up hair, and it’s very easy to use to refresh your hair.

You can also lock the hair in and use it like a curl on dry hair.

Use hair masks

It is a wonderful idea to use a prolonged hair treatment on your hair before leaving because it should take a few days.

If you are away then I will use a hair mask every day while sitting on the beach or by the pool.

So if you just got out of the water with wet hair, you can just rub it in it, just like you with sun cream on your skin.

Your hair will drink it, and all the sun heat will help to penetrate, so it will be good all day.

You also don’t have to spend a fortune. I recommend that OGX Bond Protein Repair, which is only £ 15, is.

Put out the towel

Too many people make the mistake of putting conditioner in their hair, putting it through, rinsing it down and then towing towels to dry their hair as if they were sanding a turnaround – don’t do it!

The trick is to comb your hair while you are in the shower, take out all the knots in it and then try not to put no knots back into it.

Instead of roughly drying your hair, push the hair so it is not too much disturbed – it will help reduce the curl.

Another mistake that people make is to put their hair in a turban for a long time.

It can make your hair eventually dry in its form, so it is best to move your hair in the style you want without the towel on it.

Michael says: 'Instead of roughly drying your hair, press the hair so that it is not disturbed too much - it will help reduce frizz'

Hat hair dilemmas

One problem that many people encounter on vacation is hat hair – it can get very hot under it!

To ensure that your head is still protected from the sun and your hair in good condition, it is best to wear a hat with lots of holes for the air to go through, reducing the build -up of sweat.

Cowboy hats are an excellent option for this.

Loose ponytails

Another way to keep yourself on vacation is by wearing it – but tying the hair tightly is not a good idea because it puts a lot of stress and tension on your hair.

Instead, choose a loose ponytail because it is very nice and gives it a lot of ombh.

It also means that most of your hair is hidden, and it will not be affected by the sun by heat damage.

Michael suggests wearing your hair in a loose ponytail or under a loose cowboy hat abroad
