Roommates, heart damage developed when Air India Flight 171 crashed just seconds after starting in Ahmedabad and killed 241 people on board. Of 242 passengers, only one man – Viswashkumar Ramesh – passed. Air India and their parent company, the TATA group, have since stated after the tragedy, offers condolences and confirms that the victims’ families will be compensated as the investigation continues.

Lonely survivor of the crash speaks out
Viswashkumar Ramesh, a British National of Indian OriginHad Flygt home to London with his brother, Ajay, after a family visit. The 40-year-old sat in the seat 11A, right at the window near the starting line and somehow made it out of the tragic crash.
“I can’t believe myself how I came out of it alive, for a while I thought I would die too,” Ramesh told DD News. “But when I opened my eyes I saw that I was alive. So I was trying to open the seat belt and I could get out.”
According to videosRamesh can be seen from the wreck, bloody and bandaged, but breathes. Tragically, his brother – who sat just across the aisle – made it. Ramesh said after the crash he saw the emergency door broken and added:
“When my door burst, I saw that there was some space,” he said. “So I tried to get out and I could get out.”
Moment later he went right through the garbage. His other brother, Nayan, said the first thing Ramesh did was call home in tears and said, “Find Ajay.”

Victims families to get a check
Tata group, Owner of Air Indiahas broken its silence after the heartbreaking crash of flight 171. In a statement, Tata Group’s chairman, n Chandrascaran, said that they are “deeply anxious” and will support the families for the accident. In addition, every victim family will get £ 1 crore (Just under $ 116 000 USD) and full medical support will be provided for the injured.
