A Cruise expert has issued a warning to British as more than 2.4 million passengers will sail this year.
Many cruise guests choose to pay for an unlimited alcohol package with their vacation. But there is an important mistake that can cause holidaymakers to declare their travel insurance void.
Mark Barton, cruise expert at travel insurance provider Avanti, says: ‘Cruise Holidays is meant to be relaxing, but some guests can treat the unlimited liquor package like a personal challenge – and that’s when the problem begins.
“What many people do not realize is that any medical emergency that is alcohol -related, such as injuries, falls or even alcohol poisoning, can void your travel insurance, which can leave you to a medical bill.
“It can leave you abroad abroad abroad and even be removed from the ship at the next port.”
Travel insurance will often not cover injuries that could be caused by alcohol.
