Streaming services have passed the cable and network television in total spectators among people in the United States for the first time in May, second a new relationship from Nielsen.
Last month, streaming services represented 44.8% of all television viewers, to date their largest share. Nielsen discovered that the total public for cable and network television represented 44.2% of all television spectators.
Compared to May 2021, the use of streaming increased by 71%, while the transmission decreased by 21%and the cable decreased by 39%.
The report also shows that YouTube took the crown for the maximum public with 12.5%. Netflix followed with 7.5% of the total public for the month.
Nielsen observes that free streaming services were a great factor of the overall streaming success: Plutotv, Roku Channel and Tubi represented 5.7% combined with the total vision of TV in May.
