Air India has announced a temporary reduction of its international flights, citing an extended pre-flight security and the length of flight due to the closure of the airspace in the Middle East. The adjustments operating on June 21 are aimed at improving the stability of the schedule and minimizing the disruptions at the last minute.
During this period, three routes will be suspended: Del-Naurobi (AI961/962), Amritsar-London Gatwick (AI169/170) and Goa (MOPA) -london Gatwick (AI145/146). In addition, several North American and European routes will reduce flights.
For North America key changes include:
- Delhi Toronto: Reduced to 7 flights per week with 13
- Delhi Vancouver: Up to 5 from 7
- Delhi-San Francis: Cut up to 7 out of 10
- Delhi-Shyki: Reduced to 3 of 7
- Delhi Voshington Dales: trim up to 3 of 5
In Europe:
- Delhi-London Hitches: Decrees to 22 flights weekly from 24
- Bengaluru-London Hitches: Cut to 6 from 7
- Amritsar/Delhi-Birmingham: Reduced to 2 of 3
- Delhi Paris: Now 12 flights weekly with 14
- Delhi Milan: Up to 4 from 7
- Delhi-Copenhagen: Reduced to 3 of 5
- Delhi-Vienne and Delhly-Amsterdam: slightly trimmed
The reduction also extends to the routes in Australia and the Far East, including the reduction of Deli-Galburna, Delhi-Sydney, Delhi-Teau (Haneda) and Delhi-Seul (Inchhon).
Air India addresses the affected passengers by offering alternative flight options, free transfer or complete refund. Updated schedules are available on the site, applications and contact centers of the airline. The airline confirmed its commitment to security and expressed its intention to restore full services as soon as the conditions permit.
