Senegal women’s basketball training canceled in the US after Visas rejected


In the US, the Senegales women’s basketball team has been trained, and the prime minister of the West African nation has said that it has been canceled because some teams have denied US visas.

Prime Minister US Shene Sanko said the team would now train “sovereign and convenient” in Senegal’s capital Docker.

Five Senegales basketball players and 13 team officials were traveling to meet other members of the team and their coaches who were already in the US, traveling to warm up at the 2025 women’s Afrobasket tournament at the Ivory Coast next month.

But their visa applications have not been approved.

Senegal has one of the best women’s basketballs in Africa – the final four in Afrobasket tournaments have been consistently reached and proudly proud of the top leagues of the US, Europe and Egypt.

Visa rejections are increasing eyebrows, as the recently leaked diplomatic cable involves details of extended travel restrictions, with the proposed countries been given for 60 days to address the concerns of the US.

It has been reported that people overflowing their visas, lack of co-operation of deportation, connection to terrorist attacks in the US, antismitism or anti-American activity.

After the new travel restrictions reported, the Senegal’s Foreign Ministry demanded that the national be followed by the nationalists in the US.

The government’s statement emphasized that although it did not directly respond to Senegal’s inclusion in the recent list of restricted countries, diplomatic and consular services were working in collaboration with the US administration.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yusuf Tugar said an extended travel ban could impede the potential energy and rare land mineral affairs of West Africa countries.

The Trump administration forces national security concerns and should be resolved by some countries.
