A federal judge overseeing Hunter Biden’s tax case issued a sharp rebuke President Biden’s Claims that his son was unfair along with the President’s delivery method after the President’s last-minute pardon.
U.S. District Judge Mark Scorsese, who sits in the Central District of California and was nominated by President-elect Trump, accused President Biden of “rewriting history” with the pardon in a scathing five-page order and pointed out the breadth of the pardon. Granted to his son is unconstitutional.
“The Constitution provides the President with broad powers to grant immunity and pardons for crimes against the United States, but nowhere does the Constitution grant the President the power to rewrite history,” he wrote.

The judge expressed displeasure that the president had alerted the judicial system to his son’s amnesty order. White House press release.
“Instead of providing a true and correct copy of the pardon with the notice, Mr. Biden provided a hyperlink to a White House press release presenting the president’s statement regarding the pardon and the proposed text of the pardon,” he wrote.
“In short, a press release is not an excuse,” he continued.

Scorsese continued, responding to the president’s remarks Son’s tax case: “The president claims Mr. Biden was treated differently from others who filed his taxes late because of serious addictions, implying that Mr. Biden is one of those people who paid taxes prematurely because of addictions. But he’s not.”
“According to the president, ‘(n)o reasonable person looking at the facts of (Mr. Biden’s) case could reach any conclusion that (Mr. Biden) is singled out solely because he is (the president’s) son.'” But two federal judges expressly rejected Mr. Biden’s arguments that the government prosecuted Mr. Biden because of his family ties to the president and that the president’s own attorney general and the Department of Justice oversaw the investigation that led to the charges,” Scorsese wrote.

“In the estimation of the President, these federal civil servants, the undersigned, are unwise people,” he said.

The judge said he would dispose of the case after receiving an official apology from the “appropriate executive body”.
He vacated Hunter Biden’s sentencing, which was scheduled for December 16. The charges carried up to 17 years behind bars, but the first son faces a much shorter sentence under federal sentencing guidelines.

“Subject to the discussion below, the Court assumes that the pardon is effective and disposes of the case. Supreme Court Despite its almost unlimited nature, it has long recognized that the power of pardon extends only to past offenses,” he wrote.

Hunter Biden, 54, has had a busy year in court, starting his first trial in Delaware in June when he faces three felony gun charges, which he pleaded guilty to in a separate felony tax case in September.
President Biden’s pardon His son departed from his earlier remarks to the media over the summer, insisting he would not forgive the first son.
“Yes,” President Biden told ABC News when asked if he would rule out pardoning Hunter before his guilty verdict in the gun case.

Days later, after a jury of Hunter’s peers found him guilty of three felony gun counts, the president said he would never pardon his son again.
“I’m not going to do anything,” Biden said after Hunter was convicted. “I obey Jury decision.”
