Playgama raises $3 million to build HTML5 game distribution platform


Gaming technology platform Playgama announced today that it has raised $3 million in its latest funding round. With this funding, it plans to continue its plans to become the largest distribution platform HTML5 gamesa market he claims is currently fragmented. Open Platform and s16vc led the round, with participation from FJ Labs, The Games Fund, TON Ventures, Velo Partners and Unlimit CEO Kirill Evesas.

According to Playgama, HTML5 games are currently available through a variety of offline marketplaces, including social networks, messaging apps, and non-gaming websites. Playgama’s intention is to give HTML5 game developers access and solutions for as many platforms as possible, and therefore the largest possible audience. It aims to do this with a Platform-as-a-Service ecosystem, which includes, among other things, monetization, quality control and management tools.

Playgama founder Dmitry Kachmar said of the fundraising in a statement: “We want to transform the web gaming market and empower HTML5 game creators to effortlessly reach audiences they could only dream of before. Currently, the network of Playgama distribution has the potential to reach over 200 million monthly active players, and this is just the beginning.With this funding, we will accelerate the improvement of the Playgama platform for developers, expand our set of tools and we will introduce advanced technology and analytics solutions.”

At the heart of its full suite of HTML5 developer services is its open source SDK, Playgama Bridge, which allows developers to publish games to multiple platforms with a single integration. It supports numerous game engines, including Unity, JavaScript, Godot, Construct 3 and GameMaker; and has dozens of plugins to help developers get their titles to as many platforms and players as possible.
