Old style
These fans love to watch his defensive style which is rarely seen in this era. They enjoy watching Mayweather’s old fashioned hit-and-no-hit style. This style of fighting doesn’t work in this era with competition from the UFC, other sports, social media and cable TV.
To enjoy watching Shakur, you have to be a minimalist who is happy with fighters who don’t engage and use movement for 12 rounds. There aren’t enough of these fans in the US market; that’s why Shakur’s recent fights have been tainted.
There are too much distraction boring for fans now and fighters who use the style of fencing that Mayweather was known for; they don’t follow now. Shakur does not belong to this era. Mr. High has the money to fight Shakur and whoever he wants, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a star.
