Postecoglou wants to break the vicious cycle

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is desperate for success in north London more than ever.

Spurs suffered their sixth defeat of the season at Bournemouth on Thursday night, leaving them in the bottom half.

And Postecoglou was given some direct comments from the traveling contingent as he thanked them after the game.

The mood at the club is low but the Australian boss says the fans have every right to be upset and that will only drive him to success.

In his latest press conference, he said: “For me, the disappointment of last night was a repeat of the cycle where we started games well enough, but then let the opposition take it by scoring a small goal. that we did last night – or we don’t take advantage of our opportunities.

“We have to break this cycle, no matter where we are at the moment.

“We know we’re really thin in terms of the number of teams. We know that there is not much opportunity for players to rotate and rest. We paid the price last night with Benny (Davies).

“These things are known. What is known is that we shot ourselves in the foot a lot of times in games like last night and we have to change that.

“We did well against teams at the bottom of the table, not only winning, but playing really well.

“It’s City, United or Villa. But it doesn’t take away what happened last night. It still needs to be resolved. We’ll put that aside, it’s a big game on Sunday.”

“Tottenham” on Sunday in the guest of “Chelsea” in this game was in the 13th place in the table of the competition.

The Blues have been in good form under Enzo Maresca, but Postecoglou is confident his players can catch them.

He added: “Chelsea are going really well, they are in a good atmosphere at the moment with a healthy squad and in good shape.

“It’s always a tough game against them, but we’re at home and we have to make sure we put in a performance like the other games.

“I’m here, I’m fighting to make sure we succeed at this football club. Nothing really changes. Where there’s doubt, whether it’s internally or externally, it’s just my determination makes sure we get it right.
