Chasing a modest target of 174, Suryavanshi took charge in India’s second innings as they were bowled out by Sri Lanka. Dunit Sigera. Strong partnership and dominant Indian chase
Suryavanshi was supported by her opening partner, Ayush Mhatreas the pair put together a scintillating partnership of 91 runs in just 51 balls. Mhatre, who plays an important supporting role, contributed 28 deliveries in 34 deliveries and hit seven boundaries. Suryavanshi, meanwhile, maintained an aggressive approach, reaching his half-century in just 24 balls with a six, further underscoring his dominance.
India’s 174-ball chase was a commanding performance as they secured a seven-wicket victory in an astonishing 170 runs. Suryavanshi was the top scorer, smashing 67 runs off just 36 balls, which included five sixes and numerous elegant boundaries. Contributions from Andre Siddharth S (22 out of 27 balls), captain Muhammad Amon (25 not out from 22 balls), and KP Karthikeya (11 not out from 8 balls) ensured that India crossed the finish line with ease.
Sri Lanka’s innings and India’s bowling brilliance
Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka opted to bat first but got off to a disastrous start, losing three wickets for just eight runs. Dulnit Sigera (2), Clearing Perera (6), and Vimat Dinsara (0) were dismissed cheaply. However, Laquin Abeysinghe Anchored the innings with a solid knock of 69 runs off 115 balls, sharing a crucial 93-run partnership with Sharujan Shanmuganathan (42 runs off 85 balls). Despite their efforts, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 173 in 46.2 overs.
Indian bowlers were clinical led by Chetan Sharmawho scored three goals in 29 runs. Kiran Chormale and Ayush Mhatre also contributed significantly, claiming two wickets each, while the disciplined pitches provided constant pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen.
