Boots has just launched a new lip sleep mask which beauty lovers say is exactly the same as one from a celebrity-loved luxury brand – but for an impressive £16.50 less.
2024 has been a huge year for own brand products from Boots, including the viral one Glossy lip balm – that some users compared to the Summer Friday Lip Balm – and the Boots Glow Illuminating Mistwhich is similar to Prep Set and Glow from iconic London.
Enriched with luxurious coconut oil and shea butter for increased moisture, this affordable lip mask from Boots is a winter must-have.
Ideal for slathering on before going to bed to wake up with a plump pout, the mascara can also be used throughout the day, over lipstick or lip stain, to add moisture and shine. Plus, it smells (and tastes) like sweet fruit!
Eagle-eyed shoppers spotted similarities between Boots’ new launch and another luxury beauty product.
The latest launch from the Boots own brand is the Boots Berry Lip Sleeping Maskthat has the internet in a frenzy.
“It’s so thick and moisturizing, loveee it!” wrote a TikTok user, in a video that has accumulated more than 66,600 views so far on the app.
“The texture is really thick and luxurious,” said TikTok creator @makeupbyash.x in another viral video about the app. “The fact that you can get a 20g pot for £4.50 from Boots is absolutely amazing. I absolutely love the way it feels, if you’re a dry-lips girl in the winter like me, I’d recommend definitely take one.”
“It looks eerily familiar to my favorite high-end lip mascara!” said a third creator on the app.
Housed in similar packaging to the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and complete with a separate applicator (no fingernail indentations or messy fingers!). Boots Berry Lip Sleeping Mask is available in selected stores and online for just £4.50 – compared to a £21 watch for the Laneige version.
If the thought of parting with more than £20 for a lip treatment is something you can’t bear, the Boots version it’s a fraction of the cost and just as effective, according to fans.
Infused with moisturizing coconut oil and shea butter, the affordable product is said to “envelope lips in a moisture-rich shield for deep hydration,” providing a nourishing film on lips so you can wake up with a fat pout.
Beauty lovers went crazy for the launch on social media, with one commenting: “Running to Boots as we speak!” on a video from the brand.
Although don’t let the name put you off- the moisturizing balm it can also be used throughout the day in place of your favorite lip balm or gloss for an ultra-hydrated pout – and works particularly well over lip stain products or lipstick.
The ingredients list of the two products are very similar, with both containing vitis vinifera (grape oil), rubus idaeus (raspberry seed oil) and coconut oil.
Currently, only one scent or flavor is available in the Boots Lip Sleep Maskcompared to a handful of variations available for the Laneige product – vanilla, sweet candy and gummy bear, to name a few.
“Please make a vanilla,” wrote a customer in the comments of a TikTok on the account @bootsuk.
“This looks gorgeous!” said a second. “Please tell me it will come out with more shades/scents?!’
Beauty lovers eagerly hope that the Boots Lip Sleep Mask it will soon be available in more shades – but for now, run don’t walk to try it for yourself – before it sells out (and we predict it will).
