The proposed card in Riyadh on February 22 remains the subject of online speculation, but one fight has been finalized according to one promoter.
It’s no secret that Turki Alalshih planned to take on Matchroom WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, 22-0 (10 KOs), on the opening card of the 2025 Riyadh season. Stevenson left without a fight due to injury.
That doesn’t seem to be the case now, though, thanks to Floyd Schofield, 18-0 (12 KOs). The 22-year-old’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, wrote on the social media platform that his fighter had accepted the fight.

In his post, De La Hoya also described Schofield as the “most badass fighter prospect today.” Stephenson, not short of a word or two about X, replied: “Finally you’re talking some sense. First him and then I’ll take down Zepeda. Sorry in advance kid, you’re a legend to me in the boxing ring!!”
The February 22 card has yet to be officially announced by Alalshih, but rumor has it that Daniel Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker. A rematch between undisputed lightweight champion Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol could also be on the card. And another interesting heavyweight fight – between Jilei Zhang and Agit Kabael – is another possible addition.
Jaron Ennis and Virgil Ortiz were also linked to the show, but the match was high quality it is not clear for the time being. However, Ortiz can still show what it takes to lead the card of the year.
