According to court documents and “multiple sources familiar with the investigation,” authorities believe Craig tried to get another inmate at the Arapahoe County Jail to kill an Aurora police detective working on the investigation into Angela’s 2023 death. Craig allegedly created a secret email account and searched online for topics such as “how to make a murder look like a heart attack” and “how to make poison” just days before his wife discovered symptoms such as dizziness, shaking and cold lips, according to police.
According to an arrest affidavit, Angela went to the hospital three times before she died of fainting spells and dizziness.
Authorities said Craig researched and purchased “untraceable poisons” and ordered them to ship potassium cyanide to his dental practice.
“Overall, this investigation has proven that James attempted to try and end his wife’s life.” Aurora Police Detective Bobby Olson He wrote in the affidavit.
However, Craig’s attorneys said there was no direct evidence that he poisoned his wife’s shakes and accused Olson of being biased against him.
