Already planning a 2025 vacation? Australia’s major airlines Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar are launching massive Boxing Day sales – but you’ll need to get in quick

The three major Aussie airlines have announced massive Boxing Day sales for dozens of domestic and international routes.

Hundreds of thousands of seats can be booked by skilled flyers with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin on popular routes during the limited-time sales that began on Thursday and run until seats are sold.

Virgin Australia is the only one of the competing airlines to offer the cheaper fares on international routes – with flights to New Zealand, FijiVanuatu, Bali and Samoa get the end-of-year sale treatment.

A number of domestic routes to tourist hotspots are also available for purchase from the airline such as Hamilton Island, Byron Bay and the days of Pentecost.

Virgin Australia Executive Libby Minogue said the Boxing Day sale offers were an ‘unmissable chance’ to save while traveling in the new year.

“Boxing Day is synonymous with deals – and for Virgin Australia it’s about giving our customers the freedom to explore more of Australia and beyond for less,” Ms Minogue said in a statement.

‘Whether it’s a long-awaited reunion, a dream holiday or a spontaneous getaway, these deals won’t last long, so we encourage travelers to book quickly before they’re gone.’

Discounted Virgin flights are available between January 6 and 18 September on Economy Lite and are available until 23:59 AEST on 29 December or until fares are sold out.
