My training is finally back on track after recent bouts with sciatica. I’ll try to post more often now, I think I’ve slacked off a bit, maybe from being a bit discouraged. I do a lot of PT, stretching and strengthening, for the muscles around the lower back and hip area, so hopefully there won’t be any more backslides. I’m back to about two hours of exercise a day on average, including the bike, my upper body strength work, and PT. So far so good!
On Friday, I drove my right to the Coyote Creek trail, but I took my right on the dirt paths in the vicinity instead of the paved road. These are very lightly used, I think they are more intended for riding, but they are great for bikes too, as long as you have wide enough tires. I am able to stand for longer periods again on the upright which I find a fun alternative to the sitting horse.

Yesterday he was back at the recliner for a tour in the mountains to the Southwest of the city. Cruising at a decent speed, about 18 mph (~30 kph) or so, with a bit of electric assist, is exhilarating.
