Some of these services don’t offer as much customer support as better services, don’t offer as many security features, or don’t have an uptime guarantee. You may still find a service that works for you.
Go dad
Go dad offers three managed WordPress hosting plans with WordPress pre-installed. Higher-tier managed WordPress plans also include automated WordPress updates. All of GoDaddy’s WordPress plans use NVMe storage to improve site speed and include an Airo Optimizer to help you identify other ways to speed up your site.
Each plan includes an SSL certificate and at least weekly backups. There’s also malware scanning and a firewall, but when I spoke to customer service, they told me it was “one time only,” so if you want to keep your site protected after your first encounter with malware, you’ll need to sign up for a additional security service.
Our GoDaddy hands-on review I found GoDaddy to be quite easy to use, with excellent server performance and good customer service. However, high prices and lack of permanent firewall protection prevent it from earning a spot on our top list of WordPress hosting recommendations.
Prices start from $7 per month (based on a three-year contract).
GreenGeeks
GreenGeeks is a green energy web hosting provider and guarantees a 300% green energy match for each hosting plan. It also works with non-profit organizations A planted tree plant a tree with every hosting plan sign up. If you’re new to WordPress hosting or are migrating from another service, GreenGeeks offers free WordPress installation and free site migration so you can get started quickly. GreenGeeks offers three-tier WordPress plans, and security features include SSL certificates and DDoS protections. GreenGeeks also has an industry standard uptime of 99.9%. Customer support is available 24/7 via email and chat, but phone support is only available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT (9 a.m. to midnight ET) . While chat and email support are helpful, being able to talk through a problem or have a person explain in detail how to fix something at any time can be helpful in resolving it.
Prices start from $3 per month.
MochaHost
MochaHost offers competitive pricing for its four WordPress hosting plans. These plans include automated WordPress updates and security features like an SSL certificate, automatic backups plus malware and spam monitoring. MochaHost’s 99.9% uptime is an industry standard, and customer support is available via email or chat 24/7. You can also call customer support, but you have to leave a message and wait to be called back each time. This hurts MochaHost’s rating because if I call with a problem, I want someone to help me now, not in the future.
Prices start from $3.18 per month.
WebHostingPad
WebHostingPad Three-tier WordPress plans offer unlimited hosting space, bandwidth, and business email accounts. The plans come with a one-click WordPress installer. It offers 99.9% uptime, security features like an SSL certificate, and malware scans and removals. Customer support is available 24/7 via chat or email, and phone support is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. PT (9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 00 ET). If you have a problem with your site over the weekend, you can’t call their support, and their security features aren’t as robust as other services.
Prices start from $3 per month.
HostGator
HostGator offers three-tier WordPress hosting plans with WordPress pre-installed and a 99.9% uptime guarantee, SSL certification for at least one year, firewall and DDoS protections. You will also have an integrated content delivery network: CDN – from Cloudflare, a tool that stores your site data in various locations around the world so international users can experience faster loading times.
Customers theoretically have access to 24/7 customer support via live chat, email or phone. However, when I tested HostGator’s customer support during my HostGator review I never received a response via email. When I scheduled a call with the WordPress team, I never received the call and ended up troubleshooting myself. This suggests that HostGator’s customer support is inconsistent across channels.
Bluehost
The one from Bluehost WonderSuite was created to help you learn the ins and outs of WordPress. The team of experts can help you set up your site or help you with plugins. Bluehost has four-tier WordPress hosting plans, and security features include a first-year SSL certificate and two-factor authentication. In addition to the Blue Flash team, you can reach customer support 24/7 via call or chat. Bluehost’s lack of an uptime guarantee is concerning. They agreement on activity times it says they’ll fix most problems within 15 minutes, but doesn’t say how often you should expect service to go down. If your site is down for 15 minutes a day, that means your site is down for more than three days in a year. The industry standard uptime of 99.9% means your site will potentially be down for almost nine hours in a year.
Prices start from $3 per month.
Hostwinds
Hostwinds offers unlimited storage, bandwidth, and business email accounts with every WordPress plan. You can also pay for your hosting plan with BitCoin and other cryptocurrencies. It offers three-tier WordPress hosting options. Each plan includes an SSL certificate, a 99.99% uptime guarantee, and 24/7 chat, email, ticket, and phone support. Some security features, such as two-factor authenticationthey must be installed manually, but Hostwinds has a file database of tutorials with step-by-step instructions. It is not clear, however, how long the contracts last for the prices indicated. I tried to go to the checkout to see how long the contracts were, but I was asked to create an account before I could go any further. Having to create an account before knowing how long a contract lasts is annoying. Its launch price is also significantly higher than others. The renewal price may not be as much as other services, but it’s hard to say without knowing how long the contracts last and could change before the time of renewal.
Prices start from $5.24 per month.
Web hosting center
Web Hosting Hub has a 90-day money back guarantee and a free domain name if you sign up for WordPress hosting. WordPress is pre-installed with each plan. It offers three-tier WordPress hosting options, and each plan includes SSL certificate and an industry-standard 99.9% uptime guarantee. Customer support is available 24/7 via phone, chat and email. A customer service center also offers a series of tutorials to help you set up your site, and if you sign up, you’ll even receive a personal onboarding call. Other features that come standard with other services, such as backups, cost additionally. It is this lack of security features across all plans that hurts Web Hosting Hub’s ranking.
Prices start from $6 per month.
InMotion Hosting
InMotion Hosting offers standard WordPress plans at four tiers, with starting prices ranging from $3.19 to $10 per month. The WP Core plan includes two websites, 100GB of storage, and 10 business email addresses. All other plans remove limits on websites, data storage, and email accounts. You can also access WordPress-optimized cloud hosting through InMotion Hosting, an option not provided by most hosts. This service starts at $11.67 per month
All InMotion hosting plans include an SSL certificate, web application firewall, and hacker and malware protection.
Unfortunately, InMotion Hosting performed poorly in our testing, with over 1 hour of downtime in a week and slow server speeds. Customer service also proved impossible to reach despite both live chat and support ticket options being listed.
Kinsta
Kinsta offers tiered and single-site managed WordPress hosting options. All plans include SSL certification, firewall protection, and malware detection/removal.
Kinsta has a 99.9% uptime guarantee and customer support is available 24/7 via phone, email and SMS. Prices start at $30 per month.
