A British holiday maker branded her holiday in Corfu as a ‘nightmare’ after there was ‘no English food’ available on her journey.
Last month, Susan Edwards left with her family with her family with her family with her family with her family with the Lido Corfu Sun Hotel on the Greek island, but claimed that the journey was ‘horrible from the moment we got there’.
The 69-year-old man paid £ 750 for the holidays, but blew the dining room options of the hotel and insisted that “there was no food we could eat and that we could not drink anything”.
The first morning she could have ‘toast, a hard -boiled egg or something in sauce. There was no bacon ‘.
The next day’s breakfast was’ mozzarella and sliced tomatoes. There was no hot bacon or sausage ‘.
Fortunately, “we got chips one day, but only” one day out of the whole bunch “.
“There were fish, sardines and rice – I was sick to look at rice,” said Ms Edwards, of Westerhope.
“There were pasta and salads, none of this was marked.

Susan Edwards, 69, called her all-inclusive trip to Corfu a ‘nightmare’ because there was ‘no English food’

The pensioner paid £ 750 for the holidays, but blew the dining room options of the hotel and insisted that “there was no food we could eat and that we could not drink anything”
“One night there was a Greek night and they had kebabs, I couldn’t eat it.
“This is the worst holiday I have ever been to.”
The drinks offered in the all -encompassing wine, Lager, Ouzo or brandy, as well as soft drinks.
Bottle water cost € 1.50, Ms Edwards, who was traveling with her cousins, 77 and 78, her daughter (30) and second cousin (50).
But the pensioner does not like Ouzo and does not drink brandy – so she did not enjoy a single drink on her holiday, she claimed.
She explained that she would normally drink bottled lager or one Bacardi and Coke, but it would have cost her € 9.
“By the time we paid £ 750 for the holidays, Euro 70 tourist taxes for me and my daughter and an extra £ 450 for both our meals, I could have been in the Caribbean,” the furious tourist said.
The Lido Corfu Sun Hotel said Ms Edwards claims that ‘inaccurate, exaggerated and in many cases is completely false information’.

“This is the worst holiday I have ever been to,” the pensioner insisted for lack of food options

“There were fish, sardines and rice – I was sick of looking at rice,” said Ms Edwards, of Westerhope’s
‘Our buffet is rich and diverse every day and offers fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, cold and hot dishes that meet a variety of European and Mediterranean taste. The idea that we served ‘only rice and sardines’ is simply false. ‘
The four-star hotel advertised itself as ‘panoramic views of the Ionian Sea that are arranged at different levels and dressed with stonewood and warm colors’.
“The sunny summers of relaxation in combination with the excellent services guarantee your satisfaction while living an unforgettable experience,” the hotel added, while also providing access to its own private beach.
However, Ms Edwards said she couldn’t enjoy the secluded bay because ‘it was so steep that we couldn’t get into it and it was 150 meters from the hotel’.
The holidays were doomed to Ms Edwards and her family from the beginning when they arrived at about 2pm, ready to enjoy food and refreshments after a long trip.
After climbing a big ramp to get to the hotel reception, Susan told her that food would be served to the pool at 17:00 for guests, which she said was a ‘one inch square of baklava’.
The tourist explained that she must be “careful” with her diet “because I have ulcerative colitis, so there are certain things I can’t eat.”
Ms Edwards also criticized the lack of entertainment in the hotel that was’ stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Corfu is a popular holiday -Hotspot for British, with almost a million visiting Greek island each year
Staff were also not attentive, Ms Edwards claimed: ‘There is a driveway to the side of the hotel that you should try to go up when you arrive.
“My daughter was up and down, up and down and tried to pull everyone’s case up for them.”
She also described that she was disappointed because she couldn’t have a second key for her, the room she shared with her daughter.
The holiday maker said: ‘I asked a second key to my daughter, because sometimes I get tired in the afternoon and rather than lying in the sun and burning.
“But if I went up to sleep, my daughter wouldn’t be able to end up in the room. She will have to wake me up to come in. I asked a second key, but I was told, “No, too expensive”.
The hotel said she got a second key “, but it was later revoked when she was discovered that she used to run the air conditioning 24/7, even when she was outside the room and the windows were left open-which is a clear violation of our energy-saving policy.”
The hotel added: ‘From the first day of her arrival, it was clear that the gas sought excuses. She even complained about the weather, including irrelevant matters.
‘We offer three weekly evening meetings, including a Greek night, all held outside the pool and only canceled in cases of severe weather.
‘The beach is located about 300 meters away, with access clearly described on our website and partner travel agencies. There are no misleading or hidden trouble to achieve this.
‘The hotel is only adults, and offers a tranquil atmosphere that chooses many of our loyal return guests specific year after year.
“Several other hotels have since contacted us to confirm similar behavior and tactics of the same individual.”
