Britney Spears says she’s ‘5 years old’ and moving to Mexico

A mischievous one Britney Spears has caused concern with her latest Instagram post.

The “Mmm Papi” singer posted two videos to the social media app early Tuesday in which she claims to be a 5-year-old kindergarten student and notes that rude paparazzi have prompted her to flee to Mexico.

In the first video post shared on Instagram, Spears is seen up close as she claims paparazzi boarded her on a plane while wearing a mask.

“I’m not really sure why the paparazzi let me walk on a plane looking like I’m wearing a Jason (Vorhees) mask,” the singer expresses before picking up a flashlight she once carried.

“I think my friend accidentally gave it to me,” Spears says.

Things seem to get more troubling when she confesses to her 43rd birthday from the day before, first miscalculating her actual age, before she de-ages from adult to child.

“It’s my birthday — I’m not turning 42, I’m turning 5 this year,” she says, “and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.”

In a second video posted by Spears later that day, she further calls out the paparazzi and inadvertently cleans up her “mask” statement from the first video.

“It really hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing a white Jason mask,” she says, suggesting that her complaint stems from how she’s been caught on camera.

“They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me,” Spears continues, “and the way they illustrated me (in) some of (their photos).”

After a laugh, Spears claims she’s taken drastic measures to stop the paparazzi from taking more unflattering photos:

“They have been extremely mean and cruel, and that is why I have moved to Mexico!”

Many of the photos recently taken of Spears shed light on what really happened and lean towards the singer being very healthy in her Instagram videos.

In Scots, published by Daily MailSpears can be seen wearing a long white trench coat and black, thigh-high boots as she walks the tarmac. White-rimmed sunglasses cover the upper half of her face, with a large black fedora keeping the sun out of sight.

Spears is also seen covering her mouth with a red barbecue lighter as she chats with an assistant. As can be seen in the group of photos, Spears never removes the lighter from this part of her face.

To the naked eye, it appears that Spears was not acting erratically, but was instead shielding her face from the swarming paparazzi in the area.

While concerns over Spears’ use of social media are nothing new, the singer has opened up about just wanting the grace to express a little silliness on Instagram every now and then.

In her best-selling 2023 memoir, The woman in methe Grammy-winning artist shows her appreciation for others’ consideration of her but also asks for the privilege of being herself.

“Freedom means being silly, goofy and having fun on social media,” she wrote, adding:

“Freedom means taking a break from Instagram without people calling 911. Freedom means being able to make mistakes and (learn) from them. Freedom means I don’t have to perform for anyone – on or off stage. Freedom means I get to be just as beautifully imperfect as everyone else.”

For those still concerned, a source who speaks with Vultureassured the public that Spears puts her well-being — mental and physical — first.

“She’s sober and doesn’t do drugs,” claims the insider. “She has a glass of wine every now and then, but she doesn’t have a substance abuse problem and has people around her to make sure she stays on the straight and narrow.”

Spears’ aversion to paparazzi and media attention has been documented in The woman in mewhich gives even more weight to her recent videos and actions.

In 2007, the pop star made headlines after she shaved her head after an emotional night with her two sons and their father, ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A frustrated Spears described herself as “out of her mind with grief,” walked into an LA hair salon, demanded a pair of scissors and began shaving her head.

“I had been the good girl for years,” Spears recalled The woman in me, adds:

“I smiled politely while TV hosts poked fun at my breasts, while American parents said I was ruining their children by wearing a crop top, (and) while managers patted my hand condescendingly and others second-guessed my career choices even though I had sold millions of records .
