Cadbury’s owner, Mondelez, is bidding for chocolate maker Hershey’s

Cadbury’s boss is said to be eyeing chocolate maker Hershey’s.

If Mondelez’s move is successful, it will create one of the world’s largest confectionery brands and combine favorites such as Milkshakes and Reese’s Pieces.

Hershey shares rose 13 percent in New York giving it a value of £30 billion.

But Mondelez, valued at £65 billion, went down. Mondelez has taken a first step toward a possible merger, according to Bloomberg.

The report said negotiations are early and there is no certainty the discussions will lead to a resolution.

Mondelez also tried to buy The Hershey Company in 2016, but its £18 billion bid failed.
