This review of Chuc’s lifek, Mike Flanagan’s new movie Based on a Stephen King NovellaIt begins in 1994. I was only 14 years old, I still educated in the world of movies, when I found sitting to see this new one that everyone was talking about Pulp fiction. However, when it came to the end, I found myself incredibly confused. Wasn’t John Travolta’s character Dead? How did he come back? Maybe I’ve only been a child, but I knew I had seen her die, and she was now alive again. It was not a little later that my training teenage brain realized that director Quentin Tarantino told his story out of order that I began to understand. This was something I still had to find in the expansion cinema fandom, and helped to turn Pulp fiction In one of my favorite movies ever.
I mention it in a review of Chuck’s life Because the first time I saw him, I had a similar reaction. Chuck’s life It is explained with great intention and, when the characters of the third act (you see first) appeared illogically in the first act (which you see third), did not click. I loved the movie absolutely, but a small piece was missing. Then, once this piece clicked for me, everything joined. It was a perfect puzzle that needed a touch more effort than most movies.
That doesn’t mean Chuck’s life will have the type of infinite cultural impact Pulp fiction He did it, but the two films are beautiful in part for their faith in the audience. Both are films daring enough to leave things in the imagination, so as not to connect all the points and then leave it. And, as Pulp fictionWhen you look Chuck’s life A second time, which I had the privilege of doing before writing this critique, is like watching a new movie. You can see each piece of forecast of the story. Each track subtly is there. And absent from any confusion, you can think about the biggest intentions and options of the movie Chuck’s life It really shines.

Chuck’s life Tom Hiddleston, as a title character, Charles “Chuck” Kranz, which in the first part of the film is described as “Oz of the Apocalypse”. Chiwtel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan Direct a totally intriguing, provocative and scary story of the end of the world, where Chuck’s image only goes on to appear. Hiddleston assumes the role in the second act, which dramatizes a short but memorable moment in his life, and then the paper is passed to three young actors: Cody Flanagan, Benjamin Pajak and Jacob Tremblay, in the last third, as we see Chuck’s childhood. As the story delves into who was really Chuck, Flanagan let the character and audience take into account the universe and our place.
The film is full of philosophical conversations of flexion of the mind about dance, math, the universe and much more, most of which we learn as Chuck does. It’s curious, it’s sweet and keeps you continuously on your toes. Along the way, the film asks us to never forget the first third of the film on Chuck was the protagonist of another story and slowly begins to elaborate -everything. We are seeing this beautiful rumination on the simple pleasures of life, although this great mystery of “What devils was this?” is on him like a cloud.
Flanagan fills his story with fantastic actors giving better career performances. There is Ejiofor and Gillan, of course, but also Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller the day off)Carl lumbly (Captain America: Brave New World)And even Mark Freaking Hamill. All the actors who play in Chuck are also lovely, with the Bajak with the biggest role and, therefore, gets more impact. Some of these characters appear in more than one segment, but most do not, a choice that makes a lot of sense once you understand what the movie does.

But I must recognize, without combining this puzzle, Chuck’s life Feels a little empty. In fact, it can be a little too subtle with its intentions in a first step. There is a thin line to make your narrative too obvious to be powerful and too subtle to be clear, and she flanks this line throughout the film. However, if you see the movie for the second time, you can see that it is much less subtle than you thought of a first clock. It’s just about paying attention and keeping yourself.
Chuck’s life It’s a powerful and beautiful movie. It is full of humor and heart, as well as incredible conversations and revelations. It is also more than a bit on the outside and, of course, not for everyone. However, when you see it for what it really is, it can change not only as you watch the movies but your life.
Chuck’s life It now reproduces in limited launch and opens on June 13.
