British holidaymakers defended a popular hotel in Corfu after a number of guests – including a furious grandmother who complained of ‘No English Food’ online reviews.
The Lido Corfu Sun Hotel is inundated with negative reviews left Tripadvisor During May, including a relentless evaluation of Susan Edwards, who recently shared her ‘Nightmare’ experience in the All-Inclusive, four-star hotel.
Ms Edwards, 69, of Newcastle paid £ 750 for the seven night holidays to the Greek island, but blew the dining room options of the hotel and insisted that there was no food we could eat and that we could not drink anything. ‘
The first morning she remembers that his’ toast, a hard -boiled egg or something in sauce was offered. There was no bacon, “while the next day’s breakfast” mozzarella and sliced tomatoes “and” were no hot bacon or sausage. ‘
She added: ‘There were fish, sardines and rice – I was sick to look at rice. One night there was a Greek night and they had kebabs, I couldn’t eat it. This is the worst holiday I have ever had. ‘
In her TripAdvisor review, the grandmother promised to “never visit Greece again,” and urged English visitors to “stay off the hotel” unless they prefer to eat “tomatoes and olives”.
The Lido Corfu Sun Hotel rejected Ms Edwards’ claims as’ inaccurate ‘and’ exaggerated ‘ – but a number of loyal guests have since clapped at’ Old Crows’ and ‘entitled’ holidaymakers who have left negative reviews about food.
On TripAdvisor, one guest wrote: ‘Don’t listen to pathetic Chavvy Brits and Poland who bought the cheapest’ all -inclusive ‘package, and demanded some kind of service, only the most entitled and uncouth would.

“It’s a fine, charming little place. Close to water, delicious food and clean amenities. Fortunately, there is no British food! ‘
Another regular praised the ‘clean’ environment and ‘fantastic’ staff, along with the ‘authentic Greek’ food of the restaurant.
They aimed at what Susan’s review appeared to be, and they said, ‘It’s Greece, not Newcastle on Tyne.
“There was Scottish food and it was delicious, but oh the Greeks, they know how to cook Greek food, you could imagine, go to Greece and there was no Greek food, wow!
“Even if old crows complain:” There are no beans on Warburtons toast. ” It’s not authentic English, ‘smiles the staff and goes out of their way to do everything in their power to help. It is a pity that the cases are descended. ‘
One Scottish holidaymaker left a hilarious tongue-in-cheek review and wrote: ‘Excellent all-inclusive food and drinking package, they really go out to cater for Scottish visitors.
“We enjoyed the concept of Tennant’s lager, IRN BRU was on a tap (diet and full of fat), square sausage on a roll at breakfast, Scottish pies and bridges during lunch, and there was always a choice of haggis or mince during meal.”
They added: ‘Tunnock’s tea cakes and short bread were available all day, along with Scottish blends. The Greek dishes are also tremendous, which is a bonus, because Corfu is in Greece. ‘

Along with the food, Ms Edwards complained of ‘inattentive’ staff, ‘steep’ outdoor environment, a ‘lack of’ entertainment and general problems with access.
The hotel said: ‘Our buffet is rich and diverse every day and offers fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, cold and hot dishes that meet a variety of European and Mediterranean taste. The idea that we served ‘only rice and sardines’ is false.
“From the first day of her arrival, it was clear that the guest sought excuses. She even complained about the weather, including irrelevant matters.
“Several other hotels have since contacted us to confirm similar behavior and tactics of the same individual.”
