Dell is inside half of a transition. It has a new logo and a new simplified focus of the brand. The Dell 14 Plus is between the first laptop that was launched to test the waters in this new era, which is seeing the end of subbrands like XPS and Inspiron. Although there is still more exciting XPS replacement, Dell 14 Plus has come to enter the shoes of the old laptop Inspiron Plus.
While she is far from the most exciting laptop In the world, it offers a solid quality and value balance, if you only have more configuration options available to classify -it correctly as laptop cheap.
Dell in the shell

Dell 14 plus is not what would call a beautiful laptop. But I don’t think I try to be. Instead, he tries to be harmless. In the past, this could have meant a black plastic shell. These days, it means a silver chassis with as many distractions or ornaments as possible. The Dell 14 Plus manages to do it.
More important, the laptop feels quite robust in hand. The lid has absolutely zero donation, probably by force that is the hinge. You cannot open it with a finger, in fact, there is not even a lip on the finger lid. This lid is thicker than normal, although the device is only 0.67 inches thick. This is not thin compared to a MacBook AirNo, but it is thin enough to feel modern with a laptop of this price. It also allows enough space to tighten some inherited ports, including USB-A and HDMI. This is in addition to the two USB-C ports and the prey of the headphones. My only complaint is that the two USB-C ports are on the left side, that is, it is the only side you can charge.
One of the things that prevents Dell 14 plus from feeling like a more premium laptop is the screen. It has thick plastic bezels and uses a thick matte matte finish. Although this helps to divert the dazzle, it reduces the appearance of the screen, making it look more dim and more saturated. This is also bad as the screen itself is solid. It is an surprisingly well -calibrated IPS panel with decent colors. According to my tests, it is 332 nights of brightness, which will not blow your socks, but it will not hurt the experience too much.
It should be mentioned that DELL offers a better viewing option in its 2 in 1 models. It is a brilliant mini-leader screen, although it is currently unavailable than I can see.
The 14 plus has a keyboard and a touchpad they serve. When I received the unit, I was concerned about the quality of Touchpad, as an aspect of mid -level laptops that tend to commit. Touchpad is not perfect, the surface is not as soft as it would like. But I am happy to inform that this touchpad feels sensitive and that the click mechanism is not too strong.
Limited options

Dell 14 Plus only has unique processor options, the Intel Core Ultra 7 256v. This is the modern and effective CPU of Intel that provides a solid jump of the duration of the battery during the previous generations. I have already tried this chip several times, and Dell 14 Plus manages it well. Dell 14 plus even does a job to keep it relatively cool and calm. This is not the type of laptop you buy to run heavy applications or games, but for school, office work or light content creation, Dell 14 Plus has a lot of muscle.
