Dorit addresses the excitement for her return
The much anticipated return of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills make waves, and Dorit Kemsley stepping into the spotlight this season. With rumors swirling about cast shakeups and her dynamic with Kyle Richards warm up, Dorit promises viewers plenty of drama.
Talking to Deadline, Dorit opened up about his more “activated” role this season.
“I love the positivity. I think it’s sweet and it’s fun that it translates into season seven,” she said, referring to fans who believe her energy is similar to her bold past seasons. “This season I had a lot to say and a lot that happened, and I came to my power for a variety of reasons.”
Dorit revealed that her journey back to confidence began with dealing with her lingering trauma.
“The last few years I had been really affected by the home invasion and things that were going on in my marriage and (in my) personal life, and how it affected my overall health (so) I ended up doing something about it and getting better and stronger and healthier, primarily through a business venture I entered that helped address much of my overall physical and emotional health.”
Open up about marital problems
This season also sees Dorit candidly discussed her marital problems with PK Kemsley.
“As you can see, it’s about me sharing what happened with the ladies PK and me,” she explained. “We weren’t in a good place when we started the season and we hadn’t seen each other since the reunion.”
Dorit admitted that her relationship with PK had grown strained over time but credited the show for giving her a platform to address their challenges openly. She also revealed that PK’s filmed conversations with Mauricio Umansky whether their marriages were natural, given the close friendship between the two men. “Mo and PK are good friends. They spend a lot of time together. They are very close,” she shared. “If I’m talking about my separation and my issues with my husband (with the other housewives), (PK) is being able to have a voice and share how he feels about someone other than me.”
The feud with Kyle Richards
Dorits tension with Kyle Richards is a central storyline this season, with the drama going back long before last year’s infamous text messages. “Our relationship took a fall before the text” Dorit clarified. “It was a series of events over a long period of time that made me feel like, ‘Okay, I’m done.’ Enough is enough.”
She explained that split Kyle’s text messages with Erika Jayne was her way of seeking advice. “I confided in a friend that I felt like one of my best friends wasn’t even treating me like we were friends anymore.” While Dorit stood by her decision to share the texts, she admitted that she could handle the situation with Kyle different if you get the chance.
Rumors of a Cast Shakeup
When asked about speculation that her position on the show was in jeopardy, Dorit dismissed the rumours. “If I spent or invested time in the rumours, then I would live a completely different life,” she said. “There was a moment in time (when) I chose not to do the show, and I decided to go because there was a lot going on in my life, and I questioned whether I should do the show or not.”
She added, “I really didn’t go into this season putting on, if you will, to keep my job. When I know it’s over, it’s over. But that would be a choice that I make and for good reason.”
Feud with Sutton Stracke and other teasers
Dorit hinted at a heated conflict with Sutton Stracke this season, describing their interactions as tense. “Sutton likes to get in there. Sutton likes to be front and center, and she likes to poke and prod. Dorit said. “I really wasn’t up for it, so we’re definitely rubbing shoulders, but you’ll have to watch and see.”
The reality star also teased “interesting things that happen between Garcelle and me,” leaving fans eager to see how that dynamic plays out.
