While it is unclear if his condition is temporary, the “Rocket Man” singer has shared that it would not be possible to record music for him at the moment.

During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” John said: “It’s been four months now since I couldn’t see. And my left eye isn’t the best. So there’s hope and encouragement that it’s going to be okay, but I’m a little stuck right now.”

During his three-year “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour for the Disney+ movie “Elton John: Never Too Late,” John let cameras document his journey.

In a candid scene reported by the Radio Times, the “Cold Heart” hitmaker, who shares sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with Furnish, 62, reflected on his decision to step away from touring and said his priority now is to “spend more time raising my children.”

He frankly admitted while traveling in the United States: “I want to see our children get married, but I don’t think I will be around for it.”

Furnish, who has been married to John since 2014, acknowledged the emotional impact of those words, saying: “It really upset me because I think Elton will live forever – we all do – and Elton is so alive that it is easy to believe, but it forces you to confront that reality.”
