Flying prices from Europe to the US have fallen to their lowest since the pandemic, as more and more holidaymakers avoid the states in favor of alternative destinations.
The US National Travel and Tourism Office revealed a 2.8 percent drop in overseas arrivals to the US in May compared to the previous year.
And in March, the trip from Western Europe year-on-year fell 17%, according to the NTTO.
This decrease in transatlantic flights has been placing since earlier this year, when the US president Donald Trump announced a strict tariff policy.
And now, thanks to this decline in tourism, the price of US return flights to Europe is 10 percent lower compared to a year ago.
In fact, the average rates of $ 817/£ 609 per ticket are in line with prices from the summer of 2019 before the pandemic, according to Hopper Travel Booking App Hopper.
This downward trend is expected to continue, as the analysis firm OAG Aviation said advance bookings for July show a 13 percent year-on-year reduction in the incoming trip to the United States.
Large carriers, including Air France Klm and Lufthansa, based on Germany, also confirmed that they expected the slowdown of the activity.
