Kraft Heinz announced on Tuesday that by the end of 2027 it removed all artificial dyes FD & C by the end of 2027 amid pressure from Trump administration to stop artificial colors with Nation of power.
Kraft, one of the largest food and drink manufacturers in North America, also said that no new foods with artificial colors operating immediately in the United States. Kraft Heinz said he was working with his brands’ licenses to encourage them to remove artificial colors. They are also known as FD & C color supplements as they are subject to a strict approval system in accordance with the federal nutrition law, drugs and cosmetic (FD & C Act).
“The vast majority of our products are used natural or without colors, and we were on travel to reduce the use of FD & C in the rest of our portfolio,” Pedro Novo, President Kraft Heinz on North America’s operations said.
FDA forbids artificial red dye: what is it for consumers
Navio said the famous tomato ketchup company never included artificial colors, noting that the red color comes from the tomatoes with which it is made. The company, however, removed artificial colors, preservatives and flavors from its Kraft Mac & Cheese in 2016.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy -Jr. has focused his efforts on cutting colors since the oath of office earlier this year.
“For too long, some food manufacturers fed Americans on oil chemicals without their knowledge and consent,” Kennedy said in April. “These poisonous compounds give no benefit to nutrition and create a real danger to the health and development of our children.”
His comments happened when the Power Office and Medicines (FDA) announced plans to work with the industry to turn off FD & C Green No. 3, FD & C Red No. 40, FD & C Yellow No. 5, FD & C Yellow No. 6, FD & C Blue No. 1 and FD & C BLUE # 2 from power to the end of next year.
The FDA has approved seven certified color supplements for food use as they are also allowed for use in drugs and cosmetics. However, one of them, synthetic food coloring, has already been banned from food and drugs earlier this year.

Synthetic dye is already banned in the European Union. For three decades it has also been banned in cosmetics and local drugs from the data that indicates it is due with the carcinogenicity of animals.

As part of the FDA resolution, food manufacturers had to eliminate FD & C Red No. 3 from its products by January 15, 2027. Drug manufacturers will have before January 2028.
