The Mirror mode was introduced to Mario Kart 64 and has appeared at all entries in the series since Gamecube Double Dash. To travel free on the Y axis, you must unlock the mirror mode for regular cup racing first. After having done it, visit the Peach Stadium court while exploring the world. There is a portrait of secret stained glass by Princess Peach that must be located in this course.
You can find this stained glass portrait on the roof of Peach Castle. Find one of the parts of the racecourse where you can leave and land on the roof and then climb to the middle of the castle. The portrait is in front of and in the center of the castle roof: you can not miss it. Drive by stained glass to enable mirror mode in a free roaming.
Disable mirror mode is as simple as driving for Peach portrait once again.
What are the rewards to beat the mirror mode?
Once the mirror mode has been unlocked, it is only natural that you block you on the new race tracks in each Grand Prix Cup.
