National Lottery is chasing MILLIONS of missing ticket holders – and time is running out to claim


  • One player owed £10,000 a month for 30 years – but didn’t ask for money

If you have an old lottery ticket or green card lying around and can’t remember if you checked the numbers, now is a good time to check.

Wealth and Personal Finance can reveal more than £57.6 million worth of unclaimed prizes by Lotto, Euromillions and lottery players in the ten months to the end of January.

Prizes range from a few pounds on a scratch card to millions of pounds, National Lottery director Allwyn said. Requests must be made within 180 days of payment due date or forfeit.

Unclaimed prizes represent 1.54 per cent of the total £3.7 billion awarded in prizes over the period.

A Buckinghamshire punter has won the ‘Set For Life’ prize – which pays winners £10,000 a month for a year – for matching five numbers. They have until May to claim their prize.

A Euromillions prize worth more than £300,000 was bought in Winchester unclaimed from a draw on November 19.

To check if you’re a Euromillions winner, you need to look at the bottom of your ticket – a symbol with four letters and five numbers.

To win, your unique combination must match the raffle code. Go to the National Lottery website to see the full list of stores.

If you believe you have a lost, stolen or damaged winning ticket, you must contact the National Lottery within 30 days and complete a form at www.cdn-national-lottery.co. uk/c/files/LSD-form.pdf.

You will be asked for information about where and when you bought your ticket, the name of the game and the date the prize can be drawn.

You must email the form to lostticketnotice@national-lottery.co.uk or post it to the National Lottery.

Unclaimed prizes will be sent to National Lottery Good Causes and shared with the Arts Council, UK Sport and the Lottery Heritage Fund.
