In the area closed by the sun of the western district of Western Rajastan, the oil company Limited (OIL) has transformed the arid border into a new energy center. As of June 1, 2025, the second-largest E&P firm in India began producing gas from Bahritbb, discovered a small field (DSF) block-having a significant step in the production of domestic energy from one of the country’s most harsh localities.
Oil announced the start of operations, reaching what it calls “rapid monetization” from the DSF III Phase Bloc. The company successfully drilled three wells (MWP) in the development window, which allowed the initial gas supply of 67 200 standard cubic meters per day (SCMD). Production should be shocked up to 100 million SCMD.
“This milestone emphasizes the unwavering attachment of oil to sustainability, determination and responsibility, since teams on Earth work in some of the most difficult desert conditions to maintain vital energy flows from this border region,” the company said.
The Minister of Trade Unions on Oil and Natural Gaza Hardeep Singh Puri praised the achievement by saying on X (formally Twitter): “The most heartfelt congratulations with India Limited (oil), having set a rapid monetization from the DSF III block, successfully drilling 3 mwp wit … of Oil Team that dare to ensure the Stot to ensure the energy of India.
The project shows the onslaught of India to enhance domestic oil and gas production and decreased import dependence. Located in the border region, development emphasizes the strategic expansion of energy infrastructure to new and complex geography.
