Nicole Kidman is reportedly determined to reconcile with her estranged children

Nicole Kidman is reportedly pushing for a reconciliation with his older children, Isabella and Connor.

The actress shares du0 with her ex-husband Tom Cruise and has been estranged from them since her divorce from the “Mission Impossible” star in 20o1. The former couple adopted both Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.

According to reports, Nicole Kidman’s desire for a reunion is inspired by the loss of her mother, Janelle, who was unable to spend time with the children before her death in September.

The unexpected death of Kidman’s mother Janelle is believed to have sparked a desire for reconciliation between the actress and her older children, Isabella and Connor.

Per reports that Kidman doesn’t “want to waste any more time” reaching out to her children for a “proper reconciliation,” as she’s deeply committed to the fact that her mother couldn’t be with all of them over the years due to to her estrangement from them.

“It hurt Janelle that she and husband Antony were estranged from (Isabella and Connor),” a source close to New magazine of ideas (per the Daily Mail).

The source added: “They were their first two grandchildren and were once very close. It was a deep regret that they weren’t able to see her in person before she died.”

Nicole Kidman’s relationship with her older children deteriorated after her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001.

They were last seen together in public in 2007, and she was notably absent from several of their personal milestones, including Isabella’s wedding in London in 2015, despite living in the same city at the time.

Previous reports have suggested that Kidman’s relationship with her children became strained because of Scientology, the religion practiced by their father.

While this may have contributed to their estrangement, Kidman has previously expressed that she has no problem with their decision to follow in their father’s footsteps and still loves them unconditionally.

“They’re adults. They can make their own decisions,” the actress once told Vanity Fair. They’ve made a choice to be Scientologists, and as a mom, it’s my job to love them.”

She added at the time, “I’m an example of that tolerance, and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love, and the child needs to know that there’s love available, and I’m open here.”

Despite the estrangement, Kidman received a message from her older children after her mother’s death.

The announcement from the duo is said to please the actress, who believes that reconciling with them would make her late mother happy.

“The most heartwarming thing for Nicole was getting a joint message from Bella and Connor, who she hasn’t heard from in a very long time,” an insider told Women’s Day.

They added, “It’s kind of sad that it took such a tragic moment to bring them back into her life, but she knows it would make her mom so happy if her passing brought her estranged grandson back to the family.”

At the time, the insider also shared that Kidman was ready to cut back on her work schedule to ensure she gave the process of reconciling with her children “her best chance.”

News of Kidman’s mother’s death came from the actress after she was awarded Best Actress for her role in Babygirl on the final day of the festival.

“Today I came to Venice to find out that my beautiful, brave mother has just passed away,” the Oscar-winning star said in a statement read by director Halina Reijn, according to Daily Mail.

The statement also included a tribute to her mother, who was instrumental in her career as an award-winning actress.

It further read, “I’m in shock, and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, guided and made me. I’m so grateful to say her name to all of you through Halina , the collision between life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all.”

Kidman recently shared GQ Magazine that she sometimes wakes up crying, partly because of the loss of her parents and also because of thoughts of mortality.

“Mortality. Connection. Life comes and hits you,” she told the news agency. “And loss of parents and raising children and marriage and all those things that make you a fully sentient human being. I’m in all those places. So life is, ugh. It’s definitely a journey.”

To have had what GQ Described by Kidman as a “sharp, dramatic breath” as he spoke, Kidman added that this “hits you as you get older” and “it’s a thing that wakes up at 3 in the morning and cries and gasps. If you’re in it and don’t numb yourself to it and I’m all for it.

The actress told the news outlet that despite the setbacks, she is pushing through the pain for the sake of her children.

“It continues,” she shared. “The natural line of how it’s supposed to go. The parents, then you, then the kids. That’s the natural course. So if it happens, it’s a blessing.”
