India’s young cricket team Nitish Reddy has revealed the name of the Indian star player who is his coach.

Nitish Reddy ignored the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as he claimed that KL Rahul is the one who gives him important suggestions that help him.

Nitish Reddy made his Test debut in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy

21-year-old all-rounder Nitish Reddy picked up his Test cap in Perth after being elected over Shardul Thakur as the only bowler in the series.

The selection committee ignored Shardul Thakur despite his past heroics for India both with the ball and in Test cricket, especially in Australia and England.

Nitish Reddy played the role of the fourth batsman and supported Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siroj and Harshit Rana. Before making his Test debut, Reddy played 3 T20Is for India and did well.

Talking about his performance in Perth, the all-rounder did an absolutely amazing job and impressed everyone with his all-round performance. He scored 41 runs in the first innings when India were in trouble and then blasted a 27-ball 38 in the second innings. Also, he took a wicket in this match.

Speaking in a video shared on BCCI.TV, Nitish Reddy stated that he speaks directly to KL Rahul whenever he feels he is facing any problem.

He added that the star batter gives him a good vibe and his suggestions always work for him during the game.

“If I have any problem, I just want to go and talk to KL Bhai, I somehow feel good from him, whatever suggestion he makes for me, he gives it to me before I go to bat. , suggest, and it worked.” Nitish Reddy said.

In the same video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Nitish Reddy openly admitted that he does not take cricket seriously, but the sacrifices of his father and family made him do something great and make sure that his family members are proud of him.

“Honestly, I was not serious when I was young. My father gave up his job for me and there are many sacrifices behind my story. One day I saw him crying because of the financial problems we faced and I was like you are not like that my father has made sacrifices and you are playing cricket just for fun. That’s when I got serious and I got the raise, I worked hard and it paid off,” said Nitish.

“As a son of a middle-class family, I am proud that my father is happy now. I gave him my first jersey and I saw happiness in his face and I am very proud,” he added.
