New York police on Thursday released surveillance photos of a man wanted for questioning in a fatal shooting United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Two photos show more of the face of a man wanted by the NYPD in connection with Wednesday’s homicide investigation in midtown Manhattan.
Thompson, 50, was killed early Wednesday morning by a masked gunman as he approached the entrance of the Hilton Hotel for an investor meeting. UnitedHealth GroupParent company of UnitedHealthcare.
UnitedHealthcare is the largest private payer of health insurance benefits in the United States.
“The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person depicted in the newly attached media in connection with the homicide listed below,” the NYPD’s Office of Media Affairs said in a statement.
The NYPD has not disclosed where the newly released photos came from.
Police on Wednesday released video and still photos of Thompson’s killing in which a masked gunman opened fire on the CEO. The shooter, who was wearing a backpack, fled from the spot and got on a bicycle to the nearby Central Park.
The NYPD also released surveillance photos from a nearby Starbucks on Wednesday that showed the suspected shooter wearing a mask at the time.
A $10,000 reward has been posted by the NYPD and Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible for Thompson’s murder.
