OJ Simpson’s bodyguard claims he confessed to killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman
Bodyguard claims to be recording bomb
OJ The Simpsons former bodyguard, Iroc Avelliclaimed to have a thumb drive containing a recording of the disgraced football star confessing to the infamous 1994 murders Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. According to RadarOnline.com, police in Minnesota seized the device during an unrelated investigation involving Avelli in 2022, but a recent search confirmed that no confession was found on the recording.
Accusations and legal battles
Authorities were tipped off earlier this year when an LAPD detective revealed Avelli and his attorney claimed Simpson’s confession was on one of the devices seized during Avelli’s arrest. But after obtaining the device with a new warrant, police determined the recording did not contain an admission of guilt. Avelli and his lawyer have since tried to get the seized items back through legal action, but a judge denied their motion.
The Simpsons’ Legacy of Legal Woes
Although Simpson was acquitted of the murders in 1994, a civil court found him liable in 1997 and ordered him to pay $33.5 million in restitution to the victims’ families. With unpaid debts of over $100 million, the Simpsons estate remains embroiled in financial strife. Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson’s attorney and executor of his estate, has vowed to prevent Nicole and Goldman’s families from collecting any of the estate’s proceeds.
Simpson’s death and lingering questions
Simpson passed away in April 2024 of prostate cancer, leaving behind unresolved legal and financial battles. Although the alleged admission initially sparked public interest, the lack of evidence has dampened speculation. Debate over Simpson’s legacy continues, as his estate struggles to deal with mounting debts and legal claims.
