Now, Google has revealed exactly what words Britons will be searching for in 2024.
The tech giant’s Year in Search report highlights the trends, trends, moments, and questions most asked in the UK throughout the year.

Meanwhile, searching for Oasis tickets was a hot topic, with ‘How to get Oasis tickets’ revealed as one of the most frequently asked questions.
“2024 has been a year of return, passion, and community,” said Matt Cooke from the Google News Initiative.
‘Whether it’s fans reuniting at Oasis, young superstars like Luke Littler making waves, or Brits voting on everything from elections to. EurovisionThis search shows a world full of interest and curiosity.
‘It’s amazing to see what’s made such a big impact in the UK, and it’s always an opportunity to showcase these moments in Google’s Year in Search.’

17-year-old Luke Littler, a professional athlete, is climbing the “Athlete of the Year” list, beating Olympians and top Premier League players to the title.
Google’s Year in Search report shows what’s ‘trending’ in 2024.
‘The “top” queries for 2024 are the searches that had longer traffic in 2024 compared to 2023, showing us what was “hot” in 2024,’ it said.
Top sports searches of the year
From the Paris Olympics to England to the finals of the Euros, it’s safe to say that 2024 was a big year for sports.
Several Olympians including Simone Biles and Adam Peaty were among the athletes being investigated, along with footballers Jude Bellingham, Ollie Watkins, and Cole Palmer.
However, it was 17-year-old star Luke Littler who led the list of runners.
In addition, Littler was the third most searched person, second only to Kate Middleton and Donald Trump.
Responding to the news, Littler said: ‘To be recognized in two Google listings in Google Search is a huge honour.
This year, Oasis fans in the UK rushed to hunt for tickets online, after the band announced their long-awaited reunion tour.
‘It’s been an amazing year for me personally, and for archery as a whole.
‘I can’t believe I’m higher than the Prime Minister and the King in the “People’s” category – and in a year of sporting excellence, it’s a proud moment to be a top athlete. 2024.’

The Gallagher brothers have once again cemented their place at the top of this year’s music charts, with tickets for ‘Oasis’ also making the headlines.
Cyndi Lauper hit the headlines after performing at Glastonbury festival, while Gen Z favorites Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan were also on the top line.

Britons’ love of true crime was evident this year, with Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (pictured) featured in the top TV searches, along with Fool Me Once, and Baby Reindeer.
Rivals, the TV series based on Jilly Cooper from the 80’s, has brought excitement to TV, according to Google.
Top TV and movie searches of the year
Britons’ love of true crime was evident this year, with Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez featured in top TV searches, along with Fool Me Once, and Baby Reindeer.
Meanwhile, on the big screen, popular stories captured the imagination of Brits.
‘Sequels such as Joker 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine sparked a new love for classic stories, while Rivals, based on Jilly Cooper’s 80s style, brought excitement to TV,’ Google added.
Top ‘How to…’ surveys of the year
The UK election had Britons searching for ‘How to vote in the UK’, while many music fans were eager to get their hands on Oasis tickets.
‘How to watch Fury vs Usyk’ was also popularized, as was ‘How to watch the Olympics.’
However, some of the top research in ‘How to…’ was out of touch with today’s trends.
These include ‘How To Make A Porn Star Martini’, ‘How To Make A Living In Unlimited Art’, and ‘How To Block Someone On TikTok’.
