On Thursday, “Feather” singer explained why she wrote the song while sharing some behind the scenes watching her music video. She opened the carousel with a photo of her wearing blue panties along with a pointed white top that was tied in the front to show off her tense stomach.
She explained how she wrote the song on “A Random Tuesday” with close collaborators Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff shortly after she quit her sixth album, “Short n ‘sweet.”
“It ended up being the best random Tuesday of my life,” she wrote. “It was not only so fun to write, but this song became for me something I can look back on that will make the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.”

She went on to say that the song is like “the embodiment of a loving eye roll” and “feels like an endless road trip in the summer.” She explained that is why she wanted to release the song now, “So you can stick your head out through the car window and scream it all summer!”
