The steam has A new batch of features to improve accessibility to the latest game customer beta. The platform adds a sliding scale to adjust the size of the user interface, a high contrast mode to make the text and the background buttons more differently, and a reduction motion settings to disable page animations and transitions. These three features are available for Steamos and Steam’s Big Picture Mode, which shows a full screen user interface for easier readability.
In addition, the Steamos devices gain support for a screen reader. This function has adjustments for the volume, speed and passage of audio output. The new beta also offers colored filters for Steamos devices, allowing the user to choose gray scale modes, inverted brightness or inverted. This change to visual output with colors applies to both Steam and games. At the moment, only the steam cover and the Lenovo Legion Go s Run the Valve Games operating system, but the company plans to add more devices in the future.
“These new configurations are only the first available for the accessibility functions we work on and we are excited to put even more tools in the hands of our players,” the company said in the publication of the blog that announces the new updates.
