Milan (Reuters) -stellantis has launched a voluntary enrollment plan for 610 workers at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy, after the scheme’s introduction in other Italian facilities, the carmaker said on Monday.
This year, Stellantis still reduces up to 1600 employees across Italy through a voluntary dismissal scheme. Mirafiori Scheme “aims at supporting early retirement or various career opportunities,” the company’s press secretary said, adding that workers in Miraphiya could sign up for this by the end of July.
The secretary -secretary will have a stable labor to prepare for the launch of the new hybrid version of the Fiat 500 city car. The full -scale production of the new model is expected to begin in November.
Luigi sir from Willm, one of the trade unions, who agreed with the voluntary over -enrollment plan, said he would be directed to the workers closest to retirement age.
The plan “must serve to pave the way to hiring young workers when we approach the launch of the Hybrid 500 production,” Paun said.
Between April to May Stellantis, he agreed with similar packages at other Italian collections, including MELFI and Pomigliano, for the total reduction of labor up to 1660 workers this year.
The company has less than 40,000 employees in Italy, which is compared to 55,000 in early 2021, when the group was created through the fusion of Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot PSA.
