Perhaps it’s fitting that our best look at the Marvel villain’s return is in a format that lets his enormous head shine.
Captain America: Brave New World has a lot to do in terms of what is he bringing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one of the most intriguing things kept under wraps so far is the return of Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader, who finally pays off years of waiting after Incredible Hulk set the classic villain. But now it’s a little less hidden.
A new movie, Marvel or not, means new Funko Pops, and io9 has your exclusive first look at the big-head bobbleheads the company is releasing to accompany the launch of Brave New World– and yes, among them are expected supporters such as Sam in his new cap costume, Joaquin Torres’ Falcon and Red Hulk. But we’ll have one for Samuel Sterns too.
Captain America: Brave New World Funko Pop
Yes, he has a big head! Bigger than usual for a Funko Pop! And it’s green! And he has a little goatee! So far we’ve only gotten a small glimpse of the Leader in the film itself – a single shot from behind glimpsed in the trailers – but at least that gives us an inkling that Brave New WorldStern will seem a little closer to the comic book version of the character than the one we were introduced to Incredible Hulk all those years ago. It’s fitting that this film continues to receive its first appearances via merchandise, a time-honored tradition of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point!
If that’s not enough for you, both Target and Funko’s official website will also have some extra Pops exclusive to the movie available. Target will receive special “Retro Comic” decorative variants of Sam, Red Hulk and Falcon, while the official Funko site will offer two exclusives in the form of a flying Sam Wilson and then a significantly less red Thaddeus Ross. You know, to keep filling out that Harrison Ford section of your Pop collection.
Captain America: Brave New World Target and Funko exclusive pops
