It’s no surprise that Hellesyllt has become a popular destination for vessels, amid beautiful mountains and a beautiful fjord.
It even appeared in the Mission Impossible franchise in an adrenaline pack scene Tom cruise Ride with a motorcycle from a mountain top and fall through the air.
But if tourists want to take a look at the charming village, it is best to discuss now rather than later.

The nearby mountain Å core set has a 230-foot distribution from its front, making it “one of the most dangerous rock fractures in the world”.
The rock grows by as much as three and a half inches a year due to erosion, and runs the risk of falling into the fjord below and causing one of the ‘highest tsunamis in history’.
The massive wave reaches an estimated 338 feet and would swallow schools, hospitals and about 10,000 homes in nearby FJORD villages, including Hellesyllt.

It is not known when the rock listed tsunami will take place, but an early warning system is already in place.
Lasers who pointed to Å core will find even the smallest movements and notify up to 10,000 residents in nearby FJORD villages, including Hellesylt when they have to vacate their homes.
A new drainage system that pumps water from the mountain has also been installed in an effort to stabilize the cliffs.
Scientists believe that climate change will only increase the erosion rate at Å core as the rock cliff becomes full of water from rainfall and the melting of permafrost.
For now, Hellesyllt is still open to travelers who can marvel at the UNESCO-listed FJORD landscape.
