The new trailer for Revenge of the Savage Planet Crash arrives on YouTube

What happens when you combine director Mel Brooks’ satirical wit and put it into a parody of galaxy exploration No man’s sky? Get something like this a fun, world-conquering blaster fest that demonstrates Ian Malcolm’s chaotic theory of colonization while providing a healthy dose of good old-fashioned fart jokes.

Unfortunately, the game’s original studio, Typhoon Studios, was swallowed up and spat out when Google shut down its division and all of its studios in 2019. Luckily for us, some of these developers got together, formed a new company called Raccoon Logic, raised some investment from Tencent, and took back the rights to their game for a new adventure.

A sequel called Revenge of the Savage Planet is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in May next year, and a trailer just appeared during the PC Gaming Show.

Revenge of the Savage Planet seems to stay true to its roots as a comedic adventure game about ruthless corporations battling forces of nature across the galaxy to conquer more territory it can call its own. The trailer features the return of Martin Tweed, the ruthless CEO of Kindred Technologies. There’s also a new FMV character in the trailer called Gunther Harrison, another ruthless CEO of a rival corporation called Alta Interglobal, who looks like a cross between Megamind and Sickness Futurama.

The new game can be played in solo or cooperative mode. There are chances to discover secrets, fight alien beasts and build your colony on these worlds. There’s also plenty of flying slime, silly violence, and wild attacks on corporate colonization thrown into the mix. If that’s what you liked about the first version, then it sounds like there’s a lot more to come from Revenge of the Savage Planet.
