But experts are finally lifting the lid on plastic surgery in the UK.
Dr Julian De Silva, plastic surgeon at The Clinic Londonhas revealed the most requested face of plastic surgery in 2024.
“Plastic surgery has always been a popular way to make people look better, but in 2024, there will be a noticeable shift in the types of procedures people are asking for,” he said.
According to the expert, there have been three major trends in plastic surgery this year.
People who go under the knife ask for a more defined chin, as well as smoother, wrinkle-free skin.
Meanwhile, the natural, relaxed look is the most popular choice this year – as opposed to the ‘dramatic’ look.
Dr De Silva added: “The influence of celebrity culture cannot be underestimated. From Hollywood stars to Instagram influencers, the good face has changed to look youthful, but natural.’

The UK is in the midst of a “cosmetic surgery boom”, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
Figures released last year showed that 31,057 cosmetic procedures were performed in 2022 – up 102% from last year.
The five most common procedures for women are breast augmentation, breast reduction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
Currently, the five most popular procedures among men are rhinoplasty (nose surgery), breast reduction, blepharoplasty, liposuction, and octoplasty (ear surgery).

According to the expert, a prominent, smooth, wrinkle-free jawline and a natural, relaxed look have become the ‘new standard’ of beauty in the UK.
‘These products represent a new standard of beauty, and patients are flocking to surgeons to try these cosmetic products,’ he explained.
Dr De Silva believes that this new aesthetic has been fueled by celebrity culture and social media.
Donatella Versace stunned the audience at the first show at The Devil Wears Prada London when she looked very young.
“With the rise of social media, where flawless skin and sharp jaws are always visible, people are under more pressure to meet beauty standards,” she said.
‘Filters and photo-editing have set unrealistic expectations, making everyday people want to reflect these ideas in real life.’

Lindsay Lohan attracted fans with her youth, bright appearance at several recent shows.
Dr Jonny Betteridge, a doctor of aesthetics, recently said that the star could have spent up to $ 300,000 in plastic surgery to look.
Dr Betteridge, who is the founder of the London-based clinic JB Aesthetics, and has a background in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, shared a video on Instagram documenting the cosmetics he believed the artist had experienced.
Among the surgeries Betteridge believes the Parent Trap star has had are a facelift, upper eyelid surgery, a nose job, and a nipple lift.

Dr Ross Perry, founder and Medical Director of Cosmedics Skin Clinics said: ‘This is the best I have ever seen Donatella look.
‘He doesn’t look like he’s been working on a lot of recent work, but he’s working on and improving on previous work.
‘This may involve more non-invasive treatments, removing fillers and opting for fewer previous surgeries.’
Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera appeared unannounced on the red carpet last month, sparking rumors of a facelift.
De Betteridge added: “If we compare his 18-year-old with his 43-year-old, the biggest change I can see immediately is his nose – it’s much sharper and higher.
‘They have very similar upper and lower lips so we can say that these are full of teeth and dental work, and veneers.
‘The most interesting is the upper eyelid blepharoplasty and I think the endoscopic facelift.’
