Newly obtained video shows the moment UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot up close Midtown Manhattan Wednesday morning, outside the Hilton Hotel.
In the chilling video obtained by Fox News Digital, Thompson walks down a New York City sidewalk when a masked man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and backpack walks up behind him and raises a handgun with gloved hands.
The The criminal fires several shots. At one point, the gun appears to jam. The assailant is then seen walking towards the victim who is trying to escape and brandish the gun in the side.
As he approaches Thompson, the man appears to continue struggling with the pistol, possibly firing another round at the victim who appears to be struggling to move.

A panicked pedestrian feels as the shooting takes place just feet away.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) said the perpetrator then walked between two vehicles, got on an e-city bike and disappeared into Central Park.
The accused is absconding. The NYPD released new images of the suspect Wednesday afternoon.

“Earlier today I was briefed by the superintendent New York State Police Hochul said of the horrific and targeted shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan. “I have directed the State Police to provide any necessary assistance to the NYPD with the investigation to ensure the safety of all New Yorkers. Our hearts go out to Mr. Thompson’s family and loved ones, and we are committed to ensuring that the perpetrator is brought to justice.”
