The world’s biggest nightclub will open in Ibiza in 2025 – with capacity for a staggering 15,000 people (and a helping hand from Will Smith with the ads)

The world’s biggest nightclub will open in Ibiza next year – with capacity for a small town’s people.

UNVRS, pronounced ‘universe’, will take over the site of a former ‘super club’ and boast floor space spanning 6,500 square meters (69,940 sq ft).

It is the same size as Fulham’s Craven Cottage premier league soccer field

The previous club on site welcomed up to 10,000 clubbers at once, but the newly refurbished UNVRS will have room for up to 15,000 clubbers at a time – that’s the population of Llandudno in Wales, and around 2,000 more than the coastal town of Whitby , in Yorkshire.

The residents of Rye, in East Sussex, can plug in UNVRS three times left… and still have room left for 680 friends to join them.

Pre-transformation, the club offered a large central arena with a swimming pool and 25 meter high (82 ft) ceilings, plus several additional open-air rooms providing a clubbing experience far above the norm.

To tease his opening, UNVRS enlisted the help of Hollywood actor Will Smith.

He appears in a social media campaign where the Men in Black star claims to be a VVV seen and ‘felt obliged to investigate’, appeared on the club’s roof above its distinctive dome with club owner Yann Pissenem.

Known for managing the iconic locations Ushuaia and HI Ibiza, Yan Pissenem, CEO of The Night League – the group behind the overhaul of UNVRS – tell Billboard: ‘Hyperclub is the next evolution in global nightlife. Imagine seeing your favorite artists in a space that offers the best elements of a club, the infrastructure of an arena and the best hospitality in the world.’

According to the HI Ibiza website, UNVRS will be ‘a never-before-seen concept in nightlife entertainment’.

The UNVRS site was home to Privilege in the 1970s, then the world’s biggest club, before it morphed into Ku Club in the 1980s, known for its hedonistic open-air parties that featured Grace Jones (a regular guest), Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet to the stage.

Although no official opening date has been set, the club’s website says it will ‘welcome everyone to our new universe in 2025’.
