Instagram Fils, the Meta Competitor at X, on Tuesday launched Two new features as part of their plan to integrate even more with the open social website, known as Federal. Now, Threads users will be able to see publications by other Federopos users in a dedicated Feed if they have chosen to share federal threads. In addition, people will be able to search the users of Fediverse directly in threads.
Publications of federated users will be found in the following tab of the Threads app. They do not appear in line with the other publications of thread users. Instead, tap a link to the top of the feeding to see these publications in a separate feed.
The threads may include publications made in federated applications such as Mastodon, Bookwyrm, Writefreely and others, with more services to support over time.
According to the thread engineer Peter CottleUsers will see the first -rate publications of the Fedeivers in this feed, but are still unable to answer. (They can see Fedeivers’ responses to their own publications, but this is in a different part of the application.)

In addition, Threads users will be able to search and discover the Fedeivers’ profiles in the Fils application, including those of WordPress bloggers who have activated the sharing of Fedegiverse, the users of Flipboard and those of Mastodon, among others.
The functions are designed for the threads to feel more like a federated application, which means that it connects to the wider network of interconnected social network servers that make up the Open socialized social website.
Although thread has not completed this integration, with More than 350 million Monthly active users, is the largest application that runs in the Activitypub Protocol, which feeds X Mastodon Rival and other federated applications.
First thrown In July 2023, the threads to date were inspired by traditional social networks such as X, as well as those operating on open source protocols, such as Mastodon and Bluesky. Like Bluesky, threads introduced the concept of Personalized feeds even their version of boot packagesto help users find people to follow. And like Mastodon, the threads are more directly linked to the Fedivers, allowing people to connect with others who are not directly in threads.
Since his debut, Threads has introduced functions that allow their users to opt Share your publications in the Feder, See answers to your publications of those found in Mastodon, Follow the users’ profiles on other Fedeiverse servers and Look who follows them in return.
In June, Threads expanded the Fedicate Sharing Functionality in the EU after previous launches in the United States, Canada and Japan. Meta says that Threads has interacted with more than 75% of all Fediverse servers since launching the Fediverse Sharing Function a year ago.
However, the company has not yet provided an update when it would be fully integrated with the federator or when it would Introducing account portability. This would allow Threads users to move their account elsewhere if they ever decided on the finish policies that were not for their liking. It is a key aspect for open and decentralized applications, as it puts control in the hands of the users instead of the platforms.
