Visitors were affected over a cost of £ 2 to visit a popular pier in a busy beach resort.
Opened in 1899, Brightton Palace Pier is an iconic Brighton landmark and has festival grounds, arcade games and restaurants.
It was free to sign up until last year, when Tourists started paying £ 1 entry Between the months of March and September.
But now the price has doubled.
And although £ 2 access costs contain a £ 1 voucher to spend on the pier, some visitors are not yet satisfied with the new price, and one even insisted that they not ‘go back’.
A reviewer to Tripadvisor described the pier’s ‘admission costs as a joke’.
‘Rajb_uk’ wrote: ‘What a rip off … many people turn around and leave.
“No wonder the number of visitors on a banking holiday was low on Monday … will not go back.”

Visitor ‘JJ L’, who left a One Star review, said: ‘What a scam! What a disappointment it paid! ‘
‘Gregory P’ said: ‘Absolutely disgusting that they now charge a fee to walk down the pier!
“You must be ashamed of yourselves. I refuse to come back to the pier until it’s free again! ‘
However, locals can still get free access to the pier throughout the year, as long as they apply for a special card.
Brighton Palace Pier told the mirror That people with a BN Post Code should just pick up a resident’s card at the Pier -Entrance or apply to the website for free access.
And not everyone was upset about the £ 2 entry fee.
‘Katelondon_9’ said: ‘The first time paid to enter the pier, but you do get money off the rides. There is plenty to do – arcade games, rides, food and drinks. ‘

The Pier team told The Mirror: ‘The pier is a significant structure and over the past few years maintenance cards have risen by more than a third.
“The admission fee is critical to dealing with the unique challenges and costs of retaining the structural integrity of the pier, as well as to remain as an attraction of the whole year.”
Brighton Palace Pier is currently the city’s fourth best attraction to TripAdvisor with four out of five stars.
